Black and White Bag Too!

Here is a variation on the black & white bag posted a while ago. This bag has drawstrings instead of a handle.

GAUGE: 14 sts = 4"; 17 rows = 4" in pat. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain gauge.
Handle Tote measures approximately 121/2" wide x 12" high.

NOTE: Front and Back are worked across in one continuous piece, then folded in half.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:
Ldc (Long dc): yo and draw up a lp in st indicated, [yo and draw through 2 lps] twice. Skip st behind Ldc.
V-st (V-Stitch): (worked over 3 sts) Ldc in 2nd sc 3 rows below, sc in next st of main row, Ldc in same st as previous Ldc 3 rows below.
Drawstring Tote measures approximately 13" wide x 14" high.

DRAWSTRING TOTE
With CA, Ch 92. Row 1 (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 91 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), skip first st, hdc in each st across and in top of ch-2; turn.
Rows 3 and 4: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CB in last sc of Row 4; turn.
Row 5: With CB, ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, [V-st over next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts] 14 times, V-st over next 3 sts, sc in last 2 sc; turn – 15 V-sts.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CA in last sc; turn.
Row 7: With CA, ch 1, sc in 5 sc, [V-st over next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts] 13 times, V-st over next 3 sts, sc in last 5 sc; turn – 14 V-sts.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CB in last sc; turn.
Rows 9-48: Rep Rows 5-8 ten more times.
Rows 49 and 50: With CA, rep Row 2.
Row 51: Ch 2, skip first st, hdc in next 2 hdc, [ch 1, skip next hdc, hdc in next 5 hdc] 14 times, ch 1, skip next hdc, hdc in next 2 hdc, hdc in top of ch-2; turn.
Row 52: Ch 2, skip first st, hdc in each st and sp across and in top of ch-2; turn.
Row 53: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CB in last sc; turn.
Row 54: With CB, ch 1, skip first sc, * sl st in front loop of next 3 sts, ch 1; rep from * across. Fasten off.
FINISHING: Fold piece in half; sew side and bottom seams.

Strap: With CA, ch 152. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn. Ch 1, sl st around all 4 sides of strap. Fasten off. Weave through ch-1 sps of Row 49; sew ends together. Weave in ends and fasten
securely.
