Amigurumi burger



A perfect toy for the average 3 year old (this includes college-bound fruitcakes) that is harmless yet endlessly entertaining.



You will need:
Worsted Weight: Brown, Copper, Green, Pale Gold, Pale Orange, Orchid, Red, Red-violet
Crochet hook F
Tapestry needle, invisible thread, sewing needle

Gauge:
5 rnd gauge circle = 2" (5 cm)

Stitches used:
mr - make ring (make a loop, insert needle, yarnover and pull up a loop, yarnover and pull through)
ch - chain
ch sp - chain space
sc - single crochet
inv dec - invisible decrease (insert hook in front loop only of next st twice, yo and pull through twice)
sl st - slip stitch
hdc - half double crochet
sk - skip
tr - treble crochet


Patty:
Starting at bottom with Brown, mr.
Rnd 1: ch 1, 6 sc in ring (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round.
(30 sc)
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round.
(36 sc)
Rnd 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round.
(42 sc)
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 9 sc, repeat from * to end - do not finish round. (48 sc)

Rnd 9: Sc in each sc
Rnd 10: (Invdec, sc in next 6 st) 6 times (42 st)
Rnd 11: Sc in next 2 st (invdec, sc in next 5) 5 times, invdec over next 2, sc in next 3 (36)
Rnd 12: (sc in next 4, invdec) 6 times (30 st)
Rnd 13: sc in next 2 (invdec, sc in next 3) 5 times, invdec over next 2, sc in next st (24 st)
Rnd 14: (invdec, sc in next 2 st) 6 times (18)
Rnd 15: (sc in next st, invdec) 6 times (12 st)
Rnd 16: (invdec, sc in next 2) 3 times (9 st)

Fasten off, leaving 18" tail. Thread tail onto tapestry needle, weave in and out and pull opening closed, weave in ends and flatten patty so it will fit in the bun.


Cheese:
Start in center with Pale Orange and mr.

Rnd 1: ch 1, work 5 sc in ring, join with sl st in first sc, pull starting ring closed (6)
Rnd 2: ch 1, turn, sc in first st, 2 sc in next 5, join with sl st in first sc (12 sc)
Rnd 3: ch 1, turn, sc in next sc, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * 2 more times, (sc, hdc, sc) in last sc; sc in last; join with sl st in first sc (20 st)
Rnd 4: ch 1, turn, sc in next 2 sc, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next sc, sc in next 4 st; rep from * 2 more times, (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in last st; join with sl st in first st (28 st)
Rnd 5: ch 1, turn, sc in next 3 st *(sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 7 st; rep from * 2 more times, (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in last 2 st; join with sl st in first sc (36) sc.
Rnd 6: ch 1, turn, sc in next 4 st, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 8 st, rep from * 2 more times (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in last 3 st; join with sl st in first sc (44 st.)
Rnd 7: ch 1, turn, sc in next 5 st, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 10 st; rep from * 2 more times (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in last 4 st; join with sl st in first sc (52 st)
Rnd 8: ch 1, turn, sc in next 6 st, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 10 stm rep from * 2 more times, (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 12 st; rep from * 2 more times (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in last 5 st; do not sl st to join (60 st)

Fasten off. Weave with tapestry needle and pull opening closed. Weave in ends.


Lettuce:
Starting in center with Green, mr.
Rnd 1: ch 1, work 6 sc in ring, pull starting ring closed (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st (12 sc)
Rnd 3-6: Inc 6 evenly spaced (refer to patty for numbers) (36 sc at end of row 6)
Rnd 7: ch 8 (counts as 1 tr plus ch 3), (sk 2 st, tr in the next st, ch 3) 11 times, sk 2 st, sl st to ch 3 of beginning ch to join (12 ch sp)
Rnd 8: ch 4, 7 tr around the ch 3 post at beg. of round 7, sc in next ch sp, (8 tr around post of next tr from round 7, sc in next ch sp) 11 times.
Fasten off, and finish as before.

Tomato: (make 2 or 3)
Starting at center with Red, mr.
Rnd 1: ch 1, 7 sc in ring, sl st to first sc to join (8 sc)
Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in same sp, 2 sc in the next 7 sc, sl st to first sc to join (16 sc)
Rnd 3: ch 4 (counts as 1 hdc plus ch 2) sk the sp you slst-ed in to and the next st, hdc in the next st, (ch2, sk the next st, hdc in next st) 6 times, ch 2, sk the last st, sl st into 2nd ch at beg. of rnd (8 ch sp).
Rnd 4: ch 1, 3 sc in the next ch sp (sk the next hdc, 5 sc in the next ch sp) 7 times (32 st)

Fasten off, join to first sc of round 4, weav in ends.


Red Onion Slice: (make 2 or 3)
With Orchid, ch 29. sl st to first ch to form a ring, being careful not to twist(30 st, sl st counts as a st)
Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same sp, sc in next 4 st, (2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 st) 5 times (36 sc)
Rnd 2: Change to Red-Violet. Inc 6 evenly spaced (42 sc).

Fasten off, Join to first sc of rnd 3, weave in.


Top Half of Bun (Make 1)
Starting at bottom, with Copper, mr.
Rnd 1: ch 1, 6 sc in ring (6 sc)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
Rnd 3-6: Inc 6 evenly spaced (refer patty) (36 sc)
Rnd 7-12: Inc 3 evenly spaced (54 sc at end of rnd 12)
Note: an easy way to keep track of increase rows is to count off multiples. If you know you need 39 at the end, for example, count off 13 including the initial inc.
Rnd 13: Switch to Pale Orange and sc in each sc.
Rnd 14: (sc in next 7 st, invdec) 6 times (48)
Rnd 15: Sc in next 2 st, (invdec, sc in next 6) 5 times, invdec, sc in next 4 (42)
Rnd 16: (sc in next 5, invdec) 6 times (36 st)
Rnd 17: Sc in next 2 st, (invdec, sc in next 4) 5 times, invdec, sc in next 2 (30)
Rnd 18: (Sc in next 3 st, invdec) 6 times (24 st)
Rnd 19: (invdec, sc in next 2) 6 times (18 st).
Rnd 20: (Sc in next st, invdec) 6 times (12 st)
Rnd 21: (invdec, sc in next 2) 3 times (9 st)

Fasten off, stuff top half of bun lightly, close hole as in patty.


Bottom half of bun:
Starting at bottom, with Copper, mr.
Rnd 1: ch 1, 6 sc in ring (6)
Rnd 2: ch1, 2 sc in each st (12 sc)
Rnd 3-8: Inc 6 sc evenly spaced (48 at end of rnd 8)
Rnd 9 and 10: Inc 3 evenly spaced (57 sc at end of rnd 10)
Rnd 11: Switch to Pale Orange. Sc in each sc.
Rnd 12: (sc in next 7 st, invdec) 6 times (48 st)
Rnd 13: sc in next 2 st, (invdec, sc in next 6) 5 times, invdec, sc in next 4 (42)
Rnd 14: (sc in next 5 st, invdec) 6 times (36 st)
Rnd 15: sc in next 2 st. (invdec, sc in next 4) 5 times, invdec, sc in next 2 (30 st)
Rnd 16: (sc in next 3 st, invdec) 6 times (24 st)
Rnd 17: (invdec, sc in next 2) 6 times, (18 st)

Fasten off, stuff bottom half of bun lightly, close hole as indicated previously, weave in end.
