Black Evening Bag



Yet another black evening bag for a formal occasion.




MATERIALS: 160 beads, 2 skeins size 2 thread, size C crochet hook

GAUGE: 15 dc = 2"; 7 rows = 2" in pat.

Black evening bag measures approximately 7 inches wide x 9 inches high


Black evening bag:
Ch 158.
Row 1: dc in 4th chain from hook, *ch 1, sk 2, ch 1. * to end. Join with sl. stitch to first sc.

Row 2: ch 3. dc in next dc. *dc in next dc. 3 dc in space. *to end. Join with sl. stitch to first dc.

Row 3: ch 3. dc in first dc. *ch 1. sk 3 dc, dc in next dc. *to end. Join with sl. stitch to first dc.

Row 4: ch. 3. dc in first dc. *dc in space, pull up 1 bead, dc in space twice. dc in next dc.*to end. Join with sl. stitch to first dc.

Repeat rows 3, 2, 3, 4 another 4 times then repeat rows 3, 2, and 3 once.

Next row: *ch 3, sl st in next dc. *to end. Finish off.

Bottom: Join with sl st. to any dc. dc around
Next row: sk 1 dc ever 5 dcs.
Next row: sk 1 dc ever 4 dcs.
Next row: sk 1 dc every 3 dcs.
Next row: sk 1 dc every 2 dcs.
Next row: sl st remaining together to form bottom.

Drawstring: ch 130
Row 1: sc throughout.
Row 2: sl. st. throughout.

Finishing:
Weave drawstring through and sew ends together. Trim with 1 bead on each end.

Black and Gold Elegance



An elegant evening bag, trimmed with subtle golden beads that you can wrap around your arm for a special soiree





MATERIALS:
2 ply yarn
400 gold beads
size E crochet hook

GAUGE: 5 dc = 1 inch
finish size about 7" x 5"


String 400 beads or as many as desired.

Row 1: ch 2
Row 2: 6 sc in second ch from hook; join in first sc. (6 sc)
Row 3: ch 3 (counts as a dc on this and following rounds), dc in same sc; 2 dc in each rem sc; join in third ch of beg. ch 3. (12dc)
Row 4: ch 3, dc in same ch as joining; 2 dc in each dc; join in third ch of beg ch 3. (24 dc)
Row 5: ch 3, 2 dc in next dc; (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) 11 times; join in third ch of beg. ch 3. (36 dc)
Row 6: ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc; (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 11 times; join in third ch of beg ch 3. (48 dc)
Row 7: ch 2, hdc in each sc; join in second ch of beg ch 2
Row 8: ch 2, hdc in each hdc; join in second ch of beg ch 2.
Row 9: ch 2, move one bead upto hook and hdc, *hdc in next hdc, move one bead upto hook and hdc,* to end, join in second ch of beg ch.

Black and White Bag Too!



Here is a variation on the black & white bag posted a while ago. This bag has drawstrings instead of a handle.

Gold! Gold! Gold!



A shimmering golden bag to match the treasures hidden inside...





MATERIALS:
Gold cotton crochet thread - 1 ball
Size E crochet hook
Large sewing needle - 1

GAUGE:
4sc = 1 inch


GOLDEN BAG:

Row 1: Ch 49
Row 2: Sc in second chain and to end of row. (48 sc) Slip st in first sc making circle.
Row 3: Sc in same st. *skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip
2 ch, sc in next ch,* across. Slip st into first sc. ch 3.
Row 4: 2 dc in same st, *skip next 2 sts, sc in next st, skip next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip next 2sts, sc in next st* across to last 2 sts, skip 2 st, 2 dc in beg. st, slip st on top of ch 3.
Row 5: Sc in same st. *skip 2 st, 5 dc in next st, skip 2st, sc in next st,* across. slip st into first sc. ch 3.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 to desired length ending with row 4.

Next Row: sc in same st and next 2 sts, hdc in next st, *sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next st. Repeat from * to end with sc in last 2 sts and slip st in first sc.

Eyelet Row: ch 2 in same st, hdc in next st, *ch 2, skip next st, hdc in next 2 sts,* across. slip st into first ch 2.

Finish off.

Cord: ch until cord measures 30 inches. Slip st in second chain and all the way across.

Thread the cord, join and weave in ends. Sew the bottom end of bag with sewing needle.

Knit Bead Bag



A simple knit bag with pony beads to catch the eye of the passerby.




This is an adjustable creation, designed to be made to the desired size. No specific yarn or gauge, although the bag in the picture measures 10 x 15 and was made in
worsted weight yarn.


Materials:
4 oz orange yarn.
110 each red and green pony beads
Knitting needles - size 10
Crochet hook - size g

KNIT BEAD BAG

First string the beads onto the yarn, alternating red and green, leaving 10 red and 8 green beads.

Cast on 50
Rows 1-4: Knit
Row 5: *Knit 4 position bead and knit 1. Repeat from * to end
Repeat rows 1-5 until pattern measures 20 inches, ending with row 4.
Cast off.

Sew ends to form bag.

Top Fold:
With crochet needle, join with slip stitch to one side of the bag.
Row 1: Chain 1. Pick up and sc 35 stitches to the other end of the side.
Rows 2 & 3: Chain 1. sc 35.
Row 4: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 33.
Row 5: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 31.
Row 6: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 29
Row 7: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 27
Row 8: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 25
Row 9: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 23
Row 10: Chain 1. Skip next sc. sc 21
Finish off.

Button hole:
Join with slip stitch to 11th stich of the last row in the top fold and chain 10. Fold over and slip stitch into 11th stitch of top fold. Finish off.

Strap:
String remaining beads, alternating red and green, starting and ending with red.
Join with slip stitch to stich adjascent to seam 1 inch from the top of the bag.
Chain 1. sc through seam stitch and next stitch.
Row 1: Turn. sc 3.
Repeat Row 1 until top of bag.
Row 2: Pull yarn through stitch adjascent to seam and sc on previous row. sc. continue in the same fashion for next 2 sc.
Row 3-7: Sc 3.
Row 8: Sc 1. Pull up bead and sc. sc 1.

Repeat rows 3-8 until all beads are strung.

Row 9-12: Sc 3.
Row 13: Taking care not to twist handle, join with sc to the stitches on the other side of the bag. (3 sc).
Row 14-16 (or as many rows as required for 1 inch): Sc 3.
Row 17: Pull yarn through bag and sc to previous row thrice.
Finish off.

Green heffalump



It's a well known fact that the smile of a green elephant is highly contagious. See for yourself!




Materials: 13 3/4 oz green worsted weight
small amounts of white, black and pink felt, small amount of red yarn, polyester stuffing, crochet hooks sizes H and D, yarn needle. fabric glue.

Gauge: 4sc = 1 inch

Instructions:
Body sides (make 2):
Chain 21
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each ch across (20 sc).
Row 2 - 15: Work even in sc
Row 17: Dec 1 st each end (18 sc)
Row 18: Repeat Row 17 (16 sc)
Fasten off

Row 18 is top of side piece.

Gusset:
Chain 13
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each ch across (12 sc)
Row 2-76 (or until gusset measures same length as all sides of the body side): Work even.
Fasten off. Sew ends together and sew to sides. Stuff body and close opening.

Right ear (make one):
Ch 2.
Row 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join rows. Mark beg of each row
Rows 2 - 4: Inc 6 sc evenly in each row (24 sc)
Fasten off
Row 4: Join in 5th st of Row 4, sc in same sc and in next 3 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in 4 sc) twice, 2 sc in next sc, sc in 5 sc (23 sc)
Fasten off
Row 6: Join in 1st st of Row 5, sc in same sc and in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in 5 sc) three times (26 sc)

Stuff legs and sew to bottom of body.

Trunk:
Ch 2
Row 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join rows.
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
Row 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.
Row 3: Working through both loops, sc around.
Row 5-8: Work even in sc
Row 9: Inc 2 sc evenly around (14 sc)
Row 10: Work even in sc
Rows 11-14: Repeat Rows 9 and 10 two times (18 sc)
Fasten off.

Stuff trunk, shaping into a curve while stuffing. Sew to center of face.

Eyes (Make 2)
Cut 2 large white ovals and 2 small black ovals. Use fabric glue to attach black ovals to the white and the white ovals evenly slighly higher on either side of the trunk.

Mouth: With red, in chain stitch, embroider a smile under trunk

Cheeks: With pink felt, cut 2 small circles and glue to either side of the mouth.

Tail: cut nine 6 inch strands of green and tie in center with separate piece of yarn, leaving ends for sewing. Fold the 9 strands in half and braid. Tie tightly at end with another piece of yarn. Trim ends. Sew to back of body near top.

Smile with your happy new green heffalump!

Eternity Wrap



Here is a perfect beginner level project that can be finished in 1-3 hours.





abbreviations:
hdc - half double crochet
sc - single crochet

For: Beginner
Size: 10 x 40

Materials:
Sensations Casual Boucle - 1 ball
Bernat Boa - 1/4 oz
Size F (my tension is 2 sizes too big usually, so you might be better off using H)

Gauge:15 hdc + 12 rows = 5"


WRAP:

Chain 40
Row 1 : hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across. Turn (39 stitches)
Row 2 : chain 2. hdc across. turn (39 stitches)

Repeat row 2 for 40 inches. Join with sc to first row.


FINISHING:
Join Boa yarn with slipstitch to any stitch.
Chain 1, sc in next stitch and each stitch around. Slip stitch to join to first stitch.
Slip stitch in next stitch and each stitch around.

Repeat for other side.
